My Dress!

My dress is from Demetrio's.  Before Dan and I were officially engaged (although I knew it was coming!) my sister I went shopping, just to see what was out there and how much to expect to spend.  Neither one of us had any idea of what a reasonable price would be, or even what I wanted exactly.  This only thing I knew for certain was that I did NOT want a strapless dress, and no glitter/sparkles/sequins...just not my style.  I love the look of antique lace, though, and fell in love with this dress.  I love the combination of the old-fashioned alencon lace and the more modern look of the horizontal satin ribbons.  I'm pretty tall (5'11"), and we both thought that this look was a good one for a tall girl.

Dan is planning on wearing a black suit from Joseph A. Bank (their stays-cool three button) with an ivory tie.  We each have only one attendant, and his best man will also wear a suit (color yet to be determined), with a purple tie.  My maid of honor chose her dress herself.  I originally wanted her to wear a tropical soft lime green, but the color looked terrible on her!  So we settled on purple, since I wanted mostly green and purple orchids for the flowers.  It is an Alfred Sung tiered organdy strapless.
